In 2024, the employment rate in the United States for our friends with special abilities was 22.7% compared to the 65.5% of people without special abilities. This is still consistent today and remains a 42.8% difference for employment opportunities for those with special abilities.
Brightside Forever Foundation is passionate about helping other businesses in our community hire people in the special ability community so that EVERY person in our community gets to work, live, and play here! This brings inclusion to every aspect of our lives and makes it a part of our everyday life!
THE Bean: What We Can offer You
Information on Hiring
Provide Information and training to businesses who are willing to learn about employing adults with
special abilities.
Mentorship
Mentor and guide businesses in the hiring process by giving access to training by the BEAN.
Connection to BEAN
Member of the BEAN will receive access to waiting list of potential employees, mentor for employee if needed, and a BEAN logo to place on website, and door.

Support Assistant
Part-Time, On-Site

This role focuses on clear, hands-on tasks that follow simple instructions and visual guides.
Responsibilities include assembling new client bags for both Rock Paper Scissors Buford and Scalp Garden, folding and organizing towels, sweeping designated areas, and assembling client folders
using a structured color and symbol system.
This position provides meaningful, routine-based work with clear
expectations and supportive guidance. Every completed task directly
contributes to a calm, welcoming client experience.

The Center Assistant

The Center Assistant supports daily operations of the clinic by helping prepare learning materials, organizing shared spaces, and assisting with basic center tasks. This role is designed to provide meaningful work experience for young adults with developmental disabilities through structured, supported responsibilities. Center Assistants play a key role in keeping the environment welcoming, organized, and ready for learners and staff.

Office Cleaner/Janitorial Staff

Location: City Wide Office and other office locations
The Office Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and organized work environment. This role ensures that office spaces, common areas, and restrooms are kept in
excellent condition to support a safe and productive workplace. The Office Cleaner supports the office staff in cleaning the office 1-2 times a week, completing different tasks set for specific
days. This role is designed to provide meaningful work experiences for young adults with special abilities through structures and supported responsibilities. The Office Cleaner plays a
key role in keeping the offices maintained, clean, and work ready for the office staff.

Community Support Assistant
Position Type: Part-Time, On-Site
Location: Bailey Roofing & Restoration, Out in the community
The Community Support Assistant supports the daily operations of Bailey Roofing & Restoration by helping with community outreach, marketing preparation, event support, and office
organization.
This role is designed to create meaningful job opportunities through structured tasks, clear instructions, and supportive team environments. Assistants will help the team with simple but important responsibilities that support business operations and community engagement.
The goal of this role is to provide a positive work experience while helping team members contribute to real projects within the company.
